Expand and refine your guitar skills.

Chords, riffs, repeat.

Learn essential techniques to play guitar in a range of musical styles with Joe Seamons and occasional guest instructors. Through learning songs and exercises, developing a strategy and plan for practicing, and how to use your body in healthy and helpful ways, you will grow your versatility as both a guitarist and musician through this class.

Whether you want to learn fingerpicking, soloing, new or simpler chord shapes, a bit of music theory, or how to play up the neck of your guitar, this class is for you! Benefit from the network of brilliant guitar players that populate The Rhapsody Project’s Seattle community while connecting with other intermediate musicians in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

While this class is open to all ages, people 26 and older are expected to cede space and make room for young people in the class.

Program Details


Ages	Our focus is on youth (ages 10 – 25), but all ages are welcome to sign up and join in. People 26 and older are expected to cede space and make room for young people in the class.
Enrollment	Register for the program (10 classes) online.
Fall Dates	Wednesdays, September 17 – November 19
Location	King Street Station
Tuition	Scholarships available as you register. Youth (10-25) Full Program: $100 Adult (26+) Full Program: $400

Who’s this for?	Anyone who already knows how to play 4+ guitar chords.
What do I need to bring?	A mindset that welcomes being challenged.

Grow as a guitarist, musician, and collaborator.

Guest teachers will help you learn varied techniques from their unique perspectives.

Develop skills, trade techniques, and share progress with fellow guitarists.

About Joe Seamons

Joe Seamons is a musician and educator based in Seattle and dedicated to helping people connect with their heritage through music and storytelling. As co-founder of The Rhapsody Project, he builds communities that serve and center young people while establishing cultural equity. Alongside non-profit partners Totem Star and Red Eagle Soaring, Joe helped establish The Station Space, a new youth arts hub. As part of the leadership team of Black & Tan Hall, Joe has worked since 2016 to establish the Black-led, multi-cultural cooperative that now stewards a 3,000 square foot performance venue in South Seattle.
